What Do You Miss?
I miss the way I used to see the world before I knew too much about it.
Before the noise had footnotes.
Before opinions came with algorithms.
Before reality showed me the fine print.
I miss when wonder showed up unannounced—when the sky was just the sky, people were just people, and hope didn’t need a strategy. There was a sweetness to not knowing, a freedom in believing things might just work out because… why wouldn’t they?
But here’s the thing—knowing more didn’t steal the magic. It asked me to participate in it.
Once you see the cracks, you also see where the light gets in. Once you understand the weight of the world, you realize how powerful your hands are. Awareness doesn’t end innocence; it graduates it into intention.
So yes, I miss the way I viewed the world before I knew too much about it.
And I’m grateful for who I get to be now that I do.
Because the best isn’t behind us—it’s being built. Thought by thought. Choice by choice. Love by love.
It is what it is…
and what it is, is us creating what comes next.
